The Cedarcrest Foundation of Appalachia* (CFA) is a privately funded charity organization started by Louisa Newcomb and accepts no external funding.
The Board of Directors is charged with monitoring CFA expenditures and report quarterly to the Board Chair. Six board members are each responsible for one of the following allotments:
- Disease Research Funding
- Retraining Service Programs
- Genealogy Contact Research
- Longevity Studies
- Abuse Investigations
- Elderly Care Support
